Objectively speaking...
Who can assess the sailing qualities of a yacht better and more objectively than the experienced test sailors from Yacht magazine? Here is just an extract from a test report on the International 806 which appeared in the magazine:
Quote:
The concept: a regatta boat with sufficient space and comfort for families and weekend tours.
(...) With its sporty appearance and a concept which also has a sports focus, this yacht surprised us with is spacious interior.
(...) We had the opportunity to sail the 806 under a wind of between 1 and 5 BFT. The results were excellent. Despite its outstanding course stability, the 806 can be manoeuvred just as easily as a lighter boat which is 3m shorter. It reacts sensitively to each tiny rudder movement. The required light windward ardency did not increase, even when the tilt was larger.
(...) The boat sails gently into the waves when the wind is stronger, and is neither rigid nor awkward. We also tried to bear off into the stronger gusts, and had no difficulty doing so. You can hardly credit a boat more for its sailing qualities. The handling of all the trimming options while sailing was also simple and functional. The water run-off is good both when the boat was upright and when heeling, and almost no stern wave is created. Under light winds, we only had the standard sails with the jib available. Even so, the speed was impressive.
deck layouteye candy(...) The designer had the opportunity to construct a boat without any restrictions. The result is a sporty, fast yacht. The sailing qualities are excellent, and will not fail to impress even highly-experienced regatta sailors. The hardware arrangement and the deck layout are designed with a sports focus in mind. Even so, comfort and the space provided are also adequate.
